Terms of Service
Effective: 21 April 2026
These terms govern your use of PaceMaker (“the Service”), a personal productivity tool that consolidates scheduling and commitment signals from communication channels you connect. By using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility and access
The Service is currently offered to a single authorised user (the account owner) and anyone the account owner explicitly invites. Access is gated by a shared passcode. You are responsible for keeping that passcode confidential. If you are not the account owner or an invited user, you are not authorised to access the Service.
2. What the Service does
The Service reads messages from providers you connect (e.g. Gmail), sends the text of those messages to a large-language-model provider for extraction of events and commitments, and displays the extracted items in a triage queue. You decide what to approve or reject. Approved items may be pushed to destinations such as Google Calendar, where supported.
3. Your content and accounts
- You retain ownership of all content you upload, paste, or make accessible to the Service (including email content fetched under an OAuth grant you have authorised).
- You grant the Service a limited licence to process that content solely to provide features you have enabled. The Service does not use your content to train models, to target advertising, or to build any product other than the Service you are using.
- You represent that you have the right to make the connected accounts available to the Service and to authorise the processing described in the Privacy Policy.
- You may disconnect any provider at any time from the Settings page.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process content you are not authorised to access.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, abuse controls, or the Limited Use requirements applicable to provider data (including Google user data).
- Reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service or any part of it.
- Submit content that is unlawful, infringes intellectual property, or violates the terms of any connected provider.
5. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers listed in the Privacy Policy (Vercel, Neon, Anthropic, Google, Resend). Your use of each connected provider is also governed by that provider’s own terms. The Service is not responsible for the availability or behaviour of third-party providers.
6. Availability
The Service is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. No uptime, performance, or availability is guaranteed. Features may change or be removed at any time.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of extracted content. Extractions produced by a language model may be wrong; you remain responsible for what you approve.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of the Service will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. The operator’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and disconnect any provider from the Settings page. The operator may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, including if required to comply with law or provider policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may change; material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
